OSX may look pretty and have a good UX, but it definitely doesn't allow software to gain the most performance from the hardware available (this is an Apple thing and not necessarily a developer issue). The mac version has been improved, some of the issues in the beta and 1.x versions were incorrect paths (paths migrated over from Windows) and general OSX shortcomings (color output was off when compared to Windows amongst other things).Īll in all, you will get faster performance on a Windows installation (I've tested this on a bootcamp machine).
